2025 Trails Day at the Capitol Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us on March 10th for Trails Day at the Oregon Capitol! We can't begin to capture how joyful and powerful it was to see Oregon's Capitol halls filled with trails advocates sharing the love of trails! You made a difference!

On March 10th, 2025, more than one hundred Oregonians gathered in Salem for legislative training, camaraderie, and meetings with almost 60 legislative offices.

We came to make sure our legislators know that more than 80% of Oregonians use local trails, and our communities are healthier, safer, more connected, and more prosperous when we Keep Oregon Trails Open and Invest in Trails.

Our 2025 legislative platform is straightforward:

• KEEP OREGON TRAILS OPEN WITH LASTING RECREATIONAL IMMUNITY PROTECTIONS: SB 179, AND ENCOURAGE VOLUNTEER STEWARDSHIP AND RESPONSIBLE RECREATION: HB 3140

  
  

• ADDRESS THE FUNDING SHORTFALL FOR THE OREGON COMMUNITY PATHS PROGRAM WITH A $50 MILLION ANNUAL ALLOCATION AS PART OF A SAFE, GREEN, FAIRLY FUNDED, AND ACCOUNTABLE TRANSPORTATION PACKAGE

  
  

• INVEST IN SIGNATURE TRAILS LIKE THE SALMONBERRY TRAIL AND OREGON COAST TRAIL AND KEEP THESE PROJECTS ON TRACK WITH FUNDING FOR A PERMANENT STATE TRAILS COORDINATOR POSITION
